CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION ENERGY TECHNOLOGY ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM (ETAP)

The technology developed under this ETAP project consisted of an advanced insulation concept, Compact Vacuum Insulation (CVI), which is a laboratory scale hardware technology.

The scope of the project included the development of CVI material, prototype refrigeration system construction and the evaluation of the CVI material in comparison with conventional insulation materials. Polar was teamed with NREL, the originators of this technology.
